
Strong Second Half Propels Clippers Past Stars

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Clippers (9-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the LA Clippers, defeat the Salt Lake City Stars (5-8), 124-112, on Wednesday night to sweep the two-game series.
Brandon Boston Jr. led all scorers with 30 points on 12-22 FGM (3-8 3PM) for the Clippers. He added seven rebounds and four assists on the night.
Nate Darling added 24 points on 10-22 FGM (4-10 3PM) off the Ontario bench. Jason Preston finished with a double-double of 19 points (8-18 FGM) and 11 rebounds.
Salt Lake City was led by Frank Jackson's 24 points on 5-12 FGM, with 13 points coming from the free throw line. Tyler Cook added a double-double of 15 points and 14 rebounds.
The Stars controlled the first half, leading by as much as 12 and taking a 68-57 advantage into halftime, but Ontario came out of the break with a response. Down 15 midway through the third, the Clippers cut the Salt Lake City lead to 2 behind an 18-5 run late in the quarter. After equalizing at the seven minute mark of the fourth, Ontario would finish the game 19-7 for the double-digit victory.
Next up, the Clippers return to Toyota Arena after a five day break to host a two game series against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. The first game is scheduled to tip off at 7 pm PST on Monday, January 30.
