Stretch Answers AHL Call

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, defending Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, announced that C.J. Stretch has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL in his first call-up of the season.

Stretch, 23, currently leads the Reign with 60 points, 33 assists, and a league-leading +26. He has scored 27 goals for Ontario this season putting him in a three-way tie for the second most goals in the league. The Irvine, Calif. native also leads the ECHL with a 21.3 shooting percentage.

At the 2013 ECHL All-Star Game Stretch captained the All-Stars to a 7-3 victory over the Colorado Eagles. His team won the Skills Course during the Skills Competition and the center was the lone All-Star scorer during the Breakaway Relay.

For the week of November 19-25 Stretch was named the ECHL Player of the Week when he recorded a six points (4g, 1a) in two games. In a 7-3 victory over Bakersfield, Stretch broke the Reign's single-game point and goal records with four goals and one assist for a total of five points. Stretch also earned a Reign record +5 in the game.

Last season the 5-foot-11, 195-pound forward received his first AHL call-up and played 23 games with the Houston Aeros. Stretch earned his first of six assists in his AHL debut game on January 20.

Stretch will join former Reign defenseman and teammate Colten Teubert with the Barons and is expected to play in tonight's Barons game against the Texas Stars.
