JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Bryson Stott homered in the first inning and three pitchers combined on a shutout as the BlueClaws topped Hudson Valley 5-1 on Thursday night at FirstEnergy Park.
Stott's home run, his first as a BlueClaw, opened the scoring in the first. Jersey Shore did not get their next base-runner until the seventh, when they plated four more runs. Rudy Rott's two-run triple keyed the inning.
Josh Hendrickson started and threw four scoreless innings. Jonathan Hughes (1-0) threw three scoreless and Billy Sullivan gave up a ninth inning home run to Josh Breaux, the only Renegades run of the game.
Jhailyn Ortiz added two hits for the BlueClaws, who have won two of three games to start the series.
Hayden Wesneski (0-1) gave up just one hit over five innings, but was Stott's home run and he took the loss.
Tickets for the remaining BlueClaws home games in this series can be purchased online.
