Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Hudson Valley Renegades dropped to 1-2 on Wednesday night with a 5-1 loss to the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.

The Claws struck in the bottom of the first inning on a solo home run by Bryson Stott. That was lone mark on Gades starter Hayden Wesneski's ledger. The righty faced one over the minimum, striking out eight before leaving after five innings. Wesneski took the loss to fall to 0-1.

The game stayed at 1-0 until the home half of the seventh when Jersey Shore struck for four runs. Jhailyn Ortiz singled with one out, followed by a walk to Logan O'Hoppe. Rudy Rott then tripled in both runs after the ball got past a diving effort by center field Brandon Lockridge. Keaton Greenwalt then walked and stole second before a wild pitch brought Rott home. A sacrifice fly off the bat of Herbert Iser brought the last run of the inning home.

In the ninth, Josh Breaux hit his first home run to get the Renegades on the board. The Gades put two runners on base in the inning before a double play ended the threat and the game.

The teams are back at it tomorrow for the fourth edition of the six-game series. First pitch is at 7:05. Jhony Brito gets the ball for Hudson Valley, opposed by Jhordany Mezquito.

The Renegades return to the Hudson Valley for the home opener on Tuesday, May 11 at 7:05 against the Aberdeen IronBirds. Check hvrenegades.com for tickets and other information.
