
'Stormin' the Lake' Event Set for Sunday, April 22

SEATTLE, Tuesday, April 17, 2007 - The Seattle Storm today announced that "Stormin' the Lake" - the Official Storm Fan Training Camp - will take place from 10 a.m. - noon this Sunday, April 22, at the Green Lake Community Center located at Seattle's Green Lake Park. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with Storm coaches and players from the 2007 roster and participate in fan training camp activities including face painting, Storm locker room sign making and basketball drills.
Training camp participants will also have the opportunity to join Doppler's Kids Club and learn how they can be a part of the Storm's Be Smart-Be Fit-Be Yourself program. Experts from Pacific Medical Centers will be available at "Stormin' the Lake" to offer fitness and nutrition tips. The Starbucks Chill Patrol and Pepsi will also be on-site with beverage samples.
Fan training camp activities are scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m. and will conclude at 11:30 a.m. A raffle for Storm items and a KeyArena executive suite for the Storm's Opening Night game on Sunday, May 19 will take place from 11:30-11:45 a.m. At 11:45 a.m., participants are welcome to "storm the lake" and take a lap around Green Lake's 2.8 mile path.
Youth participants between 7 and 15 years of age are encouraged to attend the NeighborHoops Youth Basketball Clinic following the "Stormin' the Lake" event. The clinic, which is scheduled to begin at noon, will be led by Storm coaches and players and will last approximately one hour.
The first 100 fans to register for the event at rsvp-cr@sonics-storm.com will receive a "Stormin' the Lake 2007" t-shirt and a Be Smart-Be Fit-Be Yourself journal. "Stormin' the Lake" will take place rain or shine. Should it rain this Sunday, all events will be moved to the gym at the Green Lake Community Center. The Storm will open their 2007 season against Western Conference rival Houston at KeyArena beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. The following Wednesday, May 23, Seattle will host the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. The Phoenix game will be televised on FSN Northwest.
Single-game tickets for all of the Storm's 2007 regular-season home games, as well as their May 11 preseason game against the Sacramento Monarchs at KeyArena, will go on sale Tuesday, May 1 at 10 a.m. All Storm home games will be played at the Key this summer, the team's eighth season in the WNBA.
