Iowa Barnstormers News Release

The Iowa Barnstormers today announced the team will recognize recently-retired Barnstormers standout Tim Dodge at halftime of Friday's nationally-televised AFL game against the top-ranked Spokane Shock.

Iowa (6-7) will face Spokane (11-2) Friday, July 16 at 7:05 p.m. from Wellmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Field at Wells Fargo Arena. The game will be broadcast live on the NFL Network.

Dodge, a native of Rockwell, Iowa and two-sport standout at the University of Iowa in football and track, had a decorated seven-year arena football career before retiring in June to pursue a career opportunity in law enforcement.

In his seven-year career, Dodge was a throwback to the roots of "Ironman-style" arena football as he played wide receiver, defensive back and was often his team's primary kicker returner. As a receiver, Dodge recorded 610 receptions, 7,670 yards, and 126 touchdowns.

According to team General Manager John Pettit, the Barnstormers have partnered with Casey's General Stores to make two-for-one ticket vouchers available for the July 16 game at all area stores. "We are excited to again partner with a great Iowa company like Casey's to ensure Barnstormers' football is an affordable experience for all Iowa families," said Pettit.

Pettit also said Casey's will be offering a free Barnstormers' "can coozie" to the first 3,500 fans attending Friday's game. The doors to Wells Fargo Arena open at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 515.633.2255 or online at www.theiowabarnstormers.com.
