'Stormers Assigned DL Xzavie Jackson

DES MOINES, IA - Last Saturday, the Iowa Barnstormers held a free agent tryout at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Eighty seven players from across the country attended including DL Xzavie Jackson. Today, Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Mike Hohensee announced that Jackson has been assigned to the 2013 roster as he has agreed to a one-year contract.

Jackson (6-3, 295) played four seasons at the University of Missouri from 2003-06, starting 31 of 43 games. For his career he compiled 183 tackles and 15.5 sacks. During his senior season, Jackson was named to the all Big-12 honorable mention team by league coaches and won Missouri's defensive lineman of the year award.

Jackson went on to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals as a free agent in 2007. He also has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles (2008) and the Edmonton Eskimos (CFL, 2009) before playing the last three seasons in the Indoor Football League.
