Guelph Storm vs. London Knights - Western Conference Quarterfinal Series

#4. London Knights vs. #5. Guelph Storm

Tuesday, March 25th: Guelph Storm at London Knights

Thursday, March 26th: London Knights at Guelph Storm

For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Guelph Storm and the London Knights are squaring off in the OHL Playoffs. While Guelph won a tight seven game series in 2003/04, London has claimed the last two meetings: 2004/05 Knights won series in four games and 2005/06 Knights won series in five games.

The Storm has jumped out to a 2-0 lead this year with wins last Friday in London and last Saturday in Guelph. The series shifts back to London for game three on Tuesday night before both teams return back to Guelph on Thursday night for game four. All games are broadcast live on Rogers 20 and 1460 CJOY.

So far this series, Storm defenceman Drew Doughty has had a significant impact scoring key goals in both games. The 18 year old won Game 1 with a lucky flip shot on net in overtime and turned the game around for the Storm on Saturday tying Game 2 with a brilliant individual rush that ended with a low hard wrist shot beating the London netminder just inside the far post.

Also of mention is the line of Luke Pither, Tyler Melancon and Tim Priamo who, with consistent forechecking, have been one of the harder working lines in the first two games. Storm goaltender Thomas McCollum has also been a solid presence turning away 60 of 63 shots in two games. The Storm have received offense from nine different players on their roster, including four defenceman.
