This Week's Opponents

Phoenix: Seattle and Phoenix met four times last season, with the Storm posting three victories to take a 14-10 advantage in the all-time series. Lauren Jackson poured in a franchise-record 35 points in the first meeting, a 94-81 Seattle victory in Phoenix on 5/25/06, while the Storm combined to score a club-record 97 points in the win in Seattle on 6/2/06. Overall, the Storm averaged 94.0 ppg in their three victories, all three of which ranked among the top-10 highest scoring games in franchise history.

San Antonio: Seattle will get its first look at the revamped San Antonio lineup this week after the team traded for veterans Becky Hammon and Ruth Riley and signed free agent Erin Buescher in the offseason. Last summer, the Silver Stars took two of three meetings from the Storm after dropping six of seven matchups the previous two seasons. Lauren Jackson sat out the final meeting last season, a 75-65 San Antonio win in Texas on 8/10/06. San Antonio owns a narrow 12-11 edge in the all-time series though Seattle has won seven of the last 10 meetings.

Ely and Wright to Visit John Muir Elementary

Storm players Shyra Ely and Tanisha Wright will host a Reading Time-Out at 3 p.m. this Tuesday, May 22 at John Muir Elementary School (3301 Horton St., Seattle). The event is part of the Storm's Read to Achieve program, sponsored locally by Starbuck's Coffee Company.

Storm Rally for Largest Comeback in Team History

The Storm rallied back from a 22-point deficit to beat Houston in the season opener last Saturday. Trailing 60-38 midway through the third quarter, Lauren Jackson's short jump shot ignited a 44-9 rally to close the game. Seattle did not commit a turnover over the final 15:01 of play while Houston had seven miscues over that span, including three shot-clock violations. Prior to Saturday's win, the largest comeback in Storm history was a 16-point rally against Washington in 2004. Here's a look at the Storm's all-time biggest come-from-behind wins:
