KEARNEY, NE - The Omaha Lancers fell in overtime on Sunday evening to the Tri-City Storm by a final score of 3-2.
The Storm got on the scoreboard in the first period at 11:23 to take a 1-0 lead. The Lancers tied the game 1-1 in the second period when Tyler Carpenter (7:51) snipped the puck past Ryan Ouellette. The Storm would get the lead back scoring at 11:02 making the score 2-1 going into the second intermission.
In the third period, Noah Carlin (14:10) shot the puck from the blueline scoring to even the game 2-2. Carlin's shot bounced off a Storm defender and bounced in top self past Ouellette. Carlin's goal would eventually force an overtime period.
In the three-on-three frame, the Storm would score on Sergeyev at 1:28 to take the 3-2 win. Sergeyev stopped 28 of the 31 Storm shot attempts. The Lancers are now 2-1-1-0 during the preseason.
The Lancers return to the ice on Thursday, October 29th to face the Tri-City Storm at Ralston Arena. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM. All the action will be on MixLR and HockeyTV.
