
Lancers Top Stars 4-1 in Corn Cup

LINCOLN, NE - The Omaha Lancers defeated the Lincoln Stars by a final score of 4-1 on Saturday night.
The Stars got on the board first at 8:55 in the first period tipping the puck in past Jakub Dobes. The Lancers evened the game 1-1 on the power-play when Matt Basgall (15:15) scored from above the right circle.
In the second frame, Nolan Renwick (12:03) ripped the puck from the slot in past Guy Blessing getting the Lancers their first lead of the night.
In the third period, Zakary Karpa (3:17) scored on the power-play making the score 3-1. The Lancers attack continued and with another power-play goal as Tyler Carpenter (16:36) jammed the puck in past Blessing to get the Lancers their final score of the night 4-1. Jakub Dobes stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced in the victory. The Lancers were 2/7 on the power-play.
The Lancers are now 2-1 in preseason play and hold a spot at second in the 2020 Corn Cup. Tri-City is in first place with a 3-0 record and the Stars third place with an 0-4 record.
