The Storm capped off a perfect 2-0-0-0 week on Sunday with a 7-2 win over the West Division leading Sarnia Sting. Brandon Buck and Grant McGee scored their first career OHL goals in the game helping solidify the Storm's win. The weekend started off on Friday with a 4-1 win over the then Central Division leading Mississauga IceDogs. Several Guelph players had solid weeks with 8 different players picking up 2 or more points in the 2 wins and goalie Thomas McCollum earning both victories while improving his league leading GAA and save percentage.

Guelph Storm Player of the Week (Week ending October 22nd)

Jamie Arniel- Leading the way for the Storm offensively was second year centre Jamie Arniel with 5 points including 3 goals and 2 assists. Arniel opened the week with 1 goal and 1 assist in Guelph's 4-1 win over the Central Division leading Mississauga IceDogs. Versus Sarnia, Arniel was named the game's third star with 2 goals and an assist. With 3 tallies this week, Arniel currently leads the Storm with 10 goals this season.

Design a Storm Goalie Mask Contest

Starting October 24th to December 8th the Guelph Storm will be looking for a winner of the Guelph Tribune "Design a Storm Goalie Mask" contest. Submitted designs will be judged on overall concept, originality and colour harmony. The GRAND PRIZE winner will be announced in an on-ice presentation prior to the Guelph Storm home game on Sunday, January 7th versus the Kingston Frontenacs. A second version of the winning design will be created and presented to a Guelph Storm goaltender during the presentation and will be worn for the rest of the 2006-07 season. The winner will also receive a custom painted goalie mask featuring the winning design signed by the Guelph Storm Hockey Club. Completed entry forms and design concepts can be mailed or dropped off in person to the Guelph Storm business offices. The contest is for children aged 16 years or younger.

Spyke's Annual Halloween Bash

The Guelph Storm will host "Spyke's Halloween Bash" on Friday night when they face the Windsor Spitfires. The game will include Halloween Costume prizes for children, as well as our on-ice Halloween Parade during the second intermission of the game.

Wednesday, October 25th: Guelph Storm at Owen Sound Attack, 7:00pm

- The Storm travel to Owen Sound on Wednesday for their first of four visits to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. The first match-up of the season between these two teams was the home opener where the Storm defeated the Attack 4-3.

Friday, October 27th: Windsor Spitfires at Guelph Storm, 7:30 pm

- The Windsor Spitfires visit Guelph on Friday night for the front end of a home-and-home that sees the two clubs play in Guelph on Friday night and in Windsor the following evening. The Storm won the first meeting 5-0 with rookie goaltender Thomas McCollum getting his first OHL start and first OHL shutout. 10/24/2006 Page 1 of 3

Recovery Force Three Star Standings Presentation

With only three games remaining in the month of October, Storm overage forward Tyler Doig leads the way in the Recovery Force Three Star Standings. The Seaforth, Ontario native earned three star honours in four of the Storm's first five games of the season and was also named the first star in Guelph's 6-2 win over the Kingston Frontenacs. The Storm will honour the Recovery Force Three Star Player of the Month for September/October during the first intermission of their home game on Sunday, November 5th versus the London Knights.
