Team Storylines
- Tri-City picked up 3 of a possible 6 points in the standings this weekend to keep pace with the frontrunners in the Western Conference. The Storm fell to Cedar Rapids 4-1 on Friday night at home, defeated Des Moines 5-2 on the road on Saturday night, and then fell in a shootout to Sioux City 3-2 yesterday in Sioux City, IA
- The Storm are currently 5th in the Western Conference, and are 9 points ahead of Lincoln for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. Tri-City is just two points back of 3rd and four points back of 2nd with just 14 games left in the regular season. The Storm trail USHL leading Omaha by 7 points and have 2 games remaining with the Lancers this season.
- Tri-City is 4-5-0-1 in its last 10 games but has accumulated 9 of a possible 12 points in the USHL standings over its last 6 games.
- The team has recently been plagued with injuries with multiple players missing time over the past month. Tri-City lost goaltender Filip Larsson to an injury two weekends ago in Des Moines and also lost Jake Barczewski to injury last Friday night in a 4-1 home loss to the CR RoughRiders. Affiliate player call up Connor Hopkins made his debut in net as a starter for Tri-City on Saturday night in Des Moines and recorded his first career USHL win in the Storm victory. Hopkins also started yesterday's game for Tri-City and stopped 27 of 29 Sioux City shots in the Storm's 3-2 shootout loss.
- Jake Barczewski and Filip Larsson are both expected to return to full health prior to the end of the regular season.
- Connor McMenamin and Tyler Madden led the Storm offensively this weekend, each recording 1 Goal and 2 Assists on the Weekend. In the 3 games played, Tri-City got goals from Madden, McMenamin, Brian Hawkinson, Bryan Yoon, Blais Richartz, Jake Crepsi and Adam Goodsir.
