
Storm Sign Rookie Forward

(Toledo, Ohio) The Toledo Storm of the ECHL announced today that they have signed forward Ryan Gale (gayul) to a contract.
Gale, a native of St. Catharines, Ont., experienced a breakout year in 2004-05 with Niagara University. In 36 games, the senior forward tallied 24 goals while adding 14 assists. Ryan's 24 goals were the seventh most scored in the NCAA last season. Of those goals, 5 were game-winners and 3 were shorthanded. Gale finished his college career appearing in 135 games with 40 goals and 25 assists.
Prior to playing for the Purple Eagles, Ryan suited up for the St. Catharines Eagles of the Golden Horseshoe Junior Hockey League (OGHL). He was OGHL Most Valuable Player and a member of the All-Star team in the 2000-01 season. That season, Gale scored 46 goals and 26 assists in 48 games.
