
Storm Set to Host Black Hawks for First Responders Night

KEARNEY, NE. - The Tri-City Storm is set to host the Waterloo Black Hawks for First Responders Night tonight at the Viaero Center. Tickets for the matchup are still available, and may be purchased online at www.StormHockey.com, or by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm CT.
For tonight's "First Responders Night" presented by All American Sewer & Drain, the Storm will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off following the matchup. Proceeds from the postgame jersey auction will benefit the First Responders Foundation. $10 tickets for First Responders are available for purchase at the Viaero Center Box Office.
Tri-City (18-16-1-3) seeks to bounce back in tonight's home game against Waterloo following last night's 2-1 loss. Trevor Connelly netted the Storm's only goal in the contest with fifteen seconds remaining in the 3rd period. The goal was Connelly's seventh of the season. The Storm now holds a 4-4-1-1 record over the past ten games following last night's result. Tri-City currently trails Sioux City by one point for 4th place in the USHL's Western Conference standings. Scoring leaders for the Storm entering tonight's First Responders Night game at the Viaero Center include Jake Richard (18), Evan Werner (14), Graham Gamache (13), Kieran Cebrian (11), Alex Bump (9), and Sebastian Törnqvist (9). Tri-City is 0-5-0-0 in head-to-head matchups against Waterloo during the 2022-2023 regular season.
Waterloo (26-13-0-0) kept pace with 1st place Fargo with last night's 2-1 road win over Tri-City. The Black Hawks currently trail the league-leading Fargo Force by four points in the standings. Miko Matikka and Garrett Schifsky each netted a goal in last night's victory over the Storm. Emmett Croteau turned away 25 of Tri-City's 26 shots on goal to record the win in goal for Waterloo. He improved to 7-7-0-0 on the season in the win. Scoring leaders for Waterloo entering tonight's road game at the Viaero Center include Miko Matikka (20), Myles Hilman (16), Garrett Schifsky (15), Gavin O'Connell (13), James Hong (11), Aaron Pionk (9), and Gavin Lindberg (9). The Black Hawks hold a .500 record of 13-13-0-0 in head-to-head matchups against the Storm over the past five seasons. Tonight's game at the Viaero Center is the final matchup between the Waterloo and Tri-City in the 2022-2023 regular season.
