Seattle Storm News Release

SEATTLE - The defending WNBA champion Seattle Storm today announced that tickets for the first home game of the First Round of the 2005 WNBA Playoffs will go on-sale this Thursday, Aug. 18, following the conclusion of the Storm vs. Lynx game. Single game ticket prices for the First Round start at $12.

"We are looking to build momentum going in to another exciting Storm postseason run," said Storm Chief Operating Officer Karen Bryant, "and what better way than to have playoff tickets available at our three remaining home games against competitive Western Conference opponents."

Storm playoff tickets can be purchased at the KeyArena East Box Office following Thursday night's game, by logging on to storm.wnba.com or by visiting any Ticketmaster location including the Sonics & Storm Team Shop located at 312 First Ave. N. on KeyArena's West Plaza.

The 2005 WNBA Playoffs are a best-of-three format for the First and Second Rounds. The 2005 WNBA Finals are a best-of-five scenario for the first time in league history. Possible first-round playoff dates are Aug. 30 and 31, as well as Sept. 1, 2, 3 and 4. The best-of-three series format means the Storm will play at least one and possibly two games at KeyArena in the first round of the playoffs. Game dates, times and matchups for the First Round will be determined at the end of regular season play on Aug. 27.

The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages the Puget Sound region's professional basketball franchises - the NBA's Seattle SuperSonics and the WNBA's Seattle Storm. The organization oversees all sales, marketing, finance, public relations and basketball operations for the teams. The Basketball Club of Seattle LLC owns both teams.
