Seattle Storm News Release
SEATTLE, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 - The Seattle Storm and Forecasters Pub will present a special Storm Trivia Night at the Redhook Ale Brewery in Woodinville on Tuesday, June 2, starting at 8 p.m. Storm players Sue Bird, Camille Little and Katie Gearlds will act as co-hosts for the event, alongside longtime host Fred Northup. No reservations are accepted on Tuesday nights, so guests should arrive early to secure a table. All ages are welcome.
To enter the contest, participants form teams of up to eight players and pay a $5 per-team entry fee. The competition consists of eight rounds of five questions each, and each round has its own theme.
Bird, Little and Gearlds will choose the themes and create their own questions for Storm Trivia Night. To match the basketball-themed event, ties appropriately will be settled by shooting free throws. Prizes up for grabs include Storm tickets, autographed jerseys and T-shirts, in addition to the regular cash prizes offered by Redhook.
"I've been hosting trivia at Redhook for over five years, but I've never had a co-host. I'm really excited," Northup said. "Look for categories not only on basketball, but on all subjects."
The Storm will tip off its 2009 10th Anniversary home campaign at KeyArena on Sunday, June 7 vs. the Sacramento Monarchs. Single-game tickets start as low as $14, and can be purchased by visiting stormbasketball.com, by calling 1-877-WNBA-TIX, or in person at any Ticketmaster retail location.
