Storm Lead Cal League with Five All-Stars

LAKE ELSINORE, CA- On June 10, 2010 the California and Carolina Leagues announced their All- Star rosters with five Storm players representing on the California League roster. Shortstop Drew Cumberland, second basemen Cole Figueroa, closer Brad Brach and outfielders Blake Tekotte and Daniel Robertson were all selected for the 2010 California/Carolina League All-Star Game to be held in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Storm lead the California League Southern Division with five selections, tied with the San Jose Giants who will bring five from the Northern Division.

The Mid-Season Classic will showcase the top players from the East Coast Carolina League and the West Coast California League. The coast-to-coast All-Star Game has been played 13 times since 1996 with a one year break in 1998. The Carolina League leads the series 6-5 over the California League with two games ending in a tie.

The 2010 All-Star Game is slated for June 22 in Myrtle Beach, SC. It will be the second time the game has been hosted by the Pelicans in the last three seasons.
