
Storm Launch 'Get Struck' Campaign

SEATTLE, Tuesday, May 1, 2007 - The Seattle Storm today announced the launch of "Get Struck," the team's brand campaign for the 2007 WNBA preseason. "Get Struck" serves as a call-to-action to challenge prospective fans who have never attended a game to experience the passion, the fun and the excitement that is Storm basketball. The campaign will peak at the Storm's regular season home opener on Saturday, May 19, when KeyArena "Gets Struck" as players are introduced amidst a spectacular display of thunder and lightening special effects. The first 5,000 fans in attendance at the May 19 game will be treated to "Get Struck" rally bracelets.
The Storm's "Get Struck" campaign will be on display beginning today throughout the Seattle region in a variety of advertising channels including billboards (Alaskan Way Viaduct and Furtado Center tri-vision), print, online and through grassroots player appearances.
Storm fans will have the opportunity to "Get Struck" at a number of Storm player appearances in the coming days. On Wednesday, May 2, customers at the Upper Queen Anne (2135 Queen Anne Ave. N.), University Village (4634 26th Ave. N.E.) and Bellevue Square (545 Bellevue Square) Starbucks Coffee locations will be treated to free beverages by Storm players from 3-4 p.m. On Thursday, May 3, Storm players will visit the ferry docks from 5-6 p.m. to purchase free ferry rides for commuters heading to Bainbridge and Bremerton Islands.
Additional "Get Struck" player appearances are still being scheduled. Fans are encouraged to log on to storm.wnba.com for more information about the locations and times of these special appearances by the Storm players.
The Storm will open their 2007 season against Western Conference rival Houston at KeyArena beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 19. The following Wednesday, May 23, Seattle will host the Phoenix Mercury at 7 p.m. The Phoenix game will be televised on FSN Northwest.
Storm single-game tickets for the team's 17 regular-season games and the May 11 preseason contest can be purchased by logging on to storm.wnba.com, by calling 1-877-WNBA-TIX or by visiting all TicketMaster locations including the Sonics & Storm Team Shop located at 312 First Ave. on KeyArena's West Plaza.
