Sioux Falls Storm News Release

The Sioux Falls Storm (13-0) will take on the Chicago Slaughter (8-4) in a United Conference matchup of two teams preparing for a playoff run. The game will be held Saturday, June 4 at 7:05pm in Chicago, Ill.

Last week, the Storm defeated the Wichita Wild 78-16 at home. In the game, quarterback Chris Dixon threw for 290 yards and eight touchdowns, bringing his season total to 66. On the ground, James Jones led the team with eight carries for 34 yards and one score, while Brandon Walker added 37 yards and one touchdown on seven carries. James Terry and Stewart Franks each had three receiving touchdowns, while Dusty Hovorka, back from an injury, helped the team with 88 receiving yards and two scores. On defense, Tyler Knight had 12 tackles; while Rachman Crable added one fumble recovery, five tackles and one sack.

The Slaughter is coming off a bye week, but the week prior lost to the Omaha Beef, 48-29. In that game, Slaughter quarterback Anthony Kropp threw for 200 yards and three scores, but was hampered by six interceptions. Shatone Powers led the team with 75 yards receiving, while Daniel DuFrene rushed 13 times in the game. On the defensive side, Lenny Radtke led the team with seven tackles.

"It's always fun to go out of division and play top teams," said Storm Owner, Todd Tryon. "We've never played at Chicago. This is a game we've had circled, and we're excited to go compete against some big city talent."

The Storm will continue their road trip next week against the Omaha Beef to close out the regular season. The Storm will return home June 25 for the second round of the IFL playoffs. For playoff ticket information, please visit www.siouxfallsstorm.com or call 605-274-6686.
