Reading Express News Release

Reading, Pa. (June 2, 2011) - After a long awaited bye week over Memorial Day weekend, the Reading Express look to come back reenergized as they face the Richmond Revolution in the home regular-season finale this Saturday, June 4. Kickoff is set for prime time, 8:00 p.m., at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pa. The Express will look to turn things around after dropping the last two games to the Green Bay Blizzard and Fairbanks Grizzlies.

The last win for the Express came back on May 8, when they stomped the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks 51-14 in what was a dominating victory. A week of rest is sure to do the Express good as the team is looking recharged as they prepare for Saturday's game.

This divisional matchup will mark the third time the Express will take on the Revolution this season. The previous two meetings have resulted in decisive victories for the Express with a 25-14 win at Richmond and a 49-28 victory at home. Following this Saturday's game in Reading, the Express will travel to Richmond for the regular-season finale on June 11 against the Revolution.

After replacing Chris Malleo at quarterback in the third quarter at Green Bay two weeks ago, Bill Winters gets the start this weekend against the Revolution. In less than a half of work during the Blizzard game, Winters compiled three touchdowns and 86 yards after completing 13 of 18 passes. Although not starting a game since last year for the New Jersey Revolution of the AIFA, Winters shows exceptional promise as a starting quarterback. Winters currently ranks second in quarterback rating in the IFL of quarterbacks who have attempted at least 40 passes this season. In fact Winters has a 109.8 rating and a 66% completion percentage which has lead him to compile six touchdowns while only throwing one interception as a backup this season.
