After a scoreless 1st period, Bobby Brink scored the game's opening goal for the Musketeers at the 1:54 mark of the 2nd period. Noah Tussey netted his 1st career USHL goal minutes later to increase the Sioux City lead to 2-0. With one-minute left to go in the 2nd period, Noah Tussey scored his 2nd career goal to give Sioux City a 3-1 advantage over the Storm.
Chase McLane scored the Storm's 2nd goal of the game with less than two minutes to play in the 3rd period to bring Tri-City back within one goal of the Musketeers' lead. McLane's goal was scored with an extra attacker on the ice as the team elected to lift goaltender Jake Barczewski in an attempt to tie the game.
