Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm defeated the Fargo Force 3-2 in overtime Saturday night at the Viaero Center in Kearney. Caden Villegas, Parker Lindauer, and Hunter Strand scored the goals for the Storm in the win. Todd Scott recorded the victory in net. Hunter Strand scored the game winning goal in overtime to give Tri-City the win.

Caden Villegas scored Tri-City's only goal of the opening period just over a minute into the game. The goal was scored at 1:10 of the 1st period and was assisted by Victor Czerneckianair and Mark Estapa. The goal was the first of Villegas' USHL Career. Czerneckianair's assist was his second of the season, and Estapa's assist was his first of the year. Tri-City outshot Fargo 6-2 in the opening period and carried a 1-0 lead into the 2nd period.

Tristan Broz tied the game at 1-1 at 3:42 of the 2nd period on a goal assisted by Ryan Siedem and Jack Peart. The goal was Broz's second of the weekend. At 6:20 of the 2nd period, Tri-City's Parker Lindauer scored his first career USHL game to give the Storm a 2-1 lead on the power play. Lindauer's goal was assisted by Hunter Strand and Isac Jonsson. The Storm outshot the Force 19-5 in the 2nd period and carried a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period.

The only goal of the 3rd period was scored by Fargo's Mason Salquist with 17 seconds left to play in the game. Fargo's Brennan Boynton was lifted for an extra attacker with over a minute to play and the Force scored the game tying goal. The game entered overtime in a 2-2 tie.

Tri-City's Hunter Strand provided the game-winning goal 41 seconds into the extra period. Cole McWard recorded the lone assist on the goal. Strand was named the Game's 1st Star, Parker Lindauer recorded 2nd Star honors, and Cade Villegas was named the 3rd Star of the Game. Todd Scott recorded the win in net for Tri-City.

Tri-City's road game against the Lincoln Stars on Saturday, November 28th has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date. The Storm will now enter a rare off week before returning home for games against the Omaha Lancers and Sioux City Musketeers on Friday, December 4th and Sunday, December 6th. Tri-City has now completed its first five games of the 2020-2021 regular season.
