Guelph Storm News Release

Playing two tough teams this past weekend, the Storm came up short, losing to the Peterborough Petes 4-0 on Friday and 5-1 to the London Knights the following night.

Friday night, the Storm were held off of the scoreboard as the faced a solid Pete's netminder, Mike Morrison. The Petes tallied twice in the first period with goals from Austin Watson and Matt Puempel. The Petes would add two more goals before the end of the game, from Alan Quine in the second and Joey West in the third, for a final score of 4-0.

After having played a tight game with the Knights earlier in the season, that ended 2-1 after a shootout, Saturday's match up looked to be an exciting one. However, the Storm got behind in the first period and never evened the score, despite a late goal by Matt Finn in the third, ending the game with a 5-1 score.

Coming up this weekend, the Storm look to rebound as the Windsor Spitfires come to the Sleeman Centre on Friday night at 7:30 pm and the Soo Greyhounds are in town on Sunday for a 2:00 pm start time.
