Guelph Storm News Release
Picking up two of a possible six points this past weekend, the Storm collected their first victory over the Kitchener Rangers on Sunday at the Sleeman Centre. Thursday night in Barrie the Storm lost to the Colts by a score of 6-4. Michael Latta, Taylor Beck, Matt Kennedy and Ben Chiarot all scored for the Storm while Cody St. Jacques made 40 saves in the loss. Friday night at home, the Storm hosted the defending Memorial Cup Champion Windsor Spitfires. Playing an excellent 40 minutes and holding the Spitfires off the score sheet for the first two periods, the Storm gave up 5 in the third to drop the contest 5-1. On Sunday afternoon wearing pink in support of breast cancer, the Storm picked up their first victory of the season defeating the Rangers 6-5 in a shootout. After giving up two goals in the final 30 seconds of the third, Matt Kennedy was the lone goal scorer in the shootout lifting his team to victory.

AMJ Player of the Week
The Guelph Storm announced today that captain Matt Kennedy is the AMJ Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 27th.
Kennedy recorded three goals and one assist for four points in three games over the weekend. Held off the scoresheet on Friday against the Spitfires, Kennedy scored the Storm's third goal in the 6-4 loss to the Colts on Thursday night at the Molson Centre. Sunday was the overager's best game as he recorded a short handed goal, an assist and scored the shootout winner in the 6-5 victory over the Kitchener Rangers. The 20 year old was named the first star of the game.
Since re-joining the Storm after attending Carolina's NHL camp, Kennedy has recorded three goals and four assists for seven points in four games played.
Next up, Kennedy and the rest of the Storm face off in a home and home against the Niagara IceDogs next weekend. The Storm host the IceDogs at the Sleeman Centre on Friday night before heading to Niagara on Saturday. Tickets can be purchased for Friday night's game by visiting or calling the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690.
The Storm look ahead to a home and home against the Niagara IceDogs this upcoming weekend. On Friday night they host the 1-2-1 IceDogs at the Sleeman Centre before traveling to St. Catharines on Saturday.

HOW TO PLAY
The objective of the 2009/10 Guelph Tribune OHL Hockey Pool is to accumulate the most number of Player Points (Goals + Assists) in accordance with these Official Rules. Each team you select will consist of Twelve (12) players: Six (6) Forwards, One (1) Rookie, One (1) European born player and Four (4) Defencemen. YOU MUST SELECT ONE AND ONLY ONE PLAYER FROM EACH OF THE TWELVE (12) GROUPS. Simply scroll down the list of five in each bracket and select your player. Any brackets without a player selected will be counted as zero points.

On Sunday September 27th, the Guelph Storm and Kitchener Rangers in partnership with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation faced off against Breast Cancer in a special "Real Men Wear Pink" fundraising game.
Commemorative pink jerseys had been created and were worn by the Storm as they faced the Kitchener Rangers to help kick off awareness for the CIBC Run for the Cure that takes place on Sunday, October 4 in Downtown Guelph.
Today starting at 4:00pm all of the pink jersey's on display during the Storm win over the Rangers will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure, Guelph.
The jersey's will be available to bid on through ebay by following the link on the Guelph Storm homepage. Players that played in the game will have starting bids at $100 and players that did not will start at $50.
Bidding will end on October 5th, 2009. Please check your bid for the specific end time as each jersey may vary.
