An easy schedule this past week, the Storm played only once, Friday night at the Sleeman Centre. Hosting the Barrie Colts for their lone visit to Guelph this season the Storm managed 36 shots, but could not beat first star of the game, goaltender Michael Hutchinson. Thomas McCollum played another solid game in net allowing only one goal on 30 shots, but his team failed to score for the second game in a row as the Storm lost their only contest of the week by a score of 1-0. With no points this past weekend, Guelph remains second in the Midwest Division with 29 points and a record of 13-9-1-2.

STORM ACQUIRE LATTA FROM 67's

The Guelph Storm announced that they have acquired forward Michael Latta from the Ottawa 67s in exchange for forward Anthony Nigro, defenceman Travis Gibbons and a 2nd round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

Latta was selected 6th overall in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection by the Ottawa 67s and is currently in his second season in the OHL. The St. Clements native recorded 28 points in his rookie season and currently has 21 points in 28 games played. The 17 year old was named to the Under 17 team coached by Jason Brooks that won gold in London last year and is ranked 11th in recently released Central Scouting rankings for OHL players for 2009 NHL Entry Draft. His acquisition gives the Storm four players in the top 24.

Latta will make his Storm debut on Firday night at the Sleeman Centre as the Belleville Bulls make their lone visit to the Sleeman Centre.

STORM HOME GAMES

November 28th: Bulls @ Storm, 7:30 pm

The Belleville Bulls visit the Sleeman Centre for their only visit this season. These two teams play each other only twice this year. The first match up was played in Belleville at the beginning of October when the Bulls defeated the Storm 2-1. Anthony Nigro scored the lone Storm goal of the game late in the third. The Bulls currenlty sit atop of the Eastern Conference with 38 points and a record of 17-6-2-2.

Guelph Mercury Books for Kids

The Guelph Storm is pleased to announce that Friday night will be the Guelph Mercury's annual Books for Kids night at the Storm. Give the gift of reading this holiday season and support the Guelph Mercury's Books for Kids book drive when the Storm host the Belleville Bulls on Friday, November 28th.

Fans in attendance are asked to donate new, unwrapped books that are suitable for children ages newborn to 18 years.

Last year Storm fans generously donated over 475 books that will benefit kids in the Guelph community.

STORM ROAD GAMES

November 29th: Storm vs. Wolves, 7:00 pm

The Storm travel to Sudbury on Saturday for their lone visit to the Sudbury Community Arena this year. The Wolves visited the Sleeman Centre on October 19th for the first matchup between these two teams this year. The Storm defeated the Wolves 6-4 with six different Storm players pitching in with goals. Saturday's visit marks the final time these clubs will play each other this season. The Wolves currently sit third in the Central Division with a record of 10-11-1-2 and 23 points.

November 30th: Storm vs.Greyhounds, 7:00

The Storm visit the Essar Centre in Sault Ste. Marie for their first of two visits on Sunday night. The Greyhounds made the trip to the Sleeman Centre for the Storm's home opener back on September 19th. Tyler Melancon's overtime goal just 41 seconds in lifted his team over the Greyhounds for the two points. After Sunday the next contest will take place in Guelph on Saturday, December 20th. The Storm travel back up to the Soo for thier third last road game of the year on February 22nd. The Greyhounds currently have a record of 12-11-1-0 and 25 points to sit fourth in the West Division.
