Barrie Colts News Release

Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts announced today that they have made a trade with the Oshawa Generals. The Colts have acquired forward Taylor Carnevale for a third round pick in 2011.

Carnevale will fill a void at the center ice position that the Colts badly needed.

"Well he's a player we liked an awful lot in the draft, he's a very skilled center and he's been on our radar for a long time and he fits in well with our young group of 91's," said head coach Marty Williamson. "He became available and we felt he would be a good acquisition for us."

The right handed center from Mississauga has played in all 25 games this year for the Generals; recording 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points. He spent his rookie season with Plymouth last year; scoring 6 goals with 13 points in 57 games and was a minus 6. Playing minor midget in 2006-07 for the Mississauga Rebels, Carnevale recorded 41 goals and 60 assists in 70 games played.

The Colts have stockpiled draft picks recently and gave up their own third round pick in 2011 for Carnevale. He was originally selected in the second round, 30th overall by Plymouth in the 2007 OHL Priority Selection.

Taylor was born into a hockey family; his Father John coached in Germany and for the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL. He has lived in Germany, Austria, Italy and California. Taylor should be in the lineup when the Colts host Sudbury on Thursday night.
