Storm Alum Nick Lappin Becomes 12th Tri-City Player to Make NHL Debut

Kearney, Neb. - Tri-City Storm alum Nick Lappin (TC: 2010-12) will become the 12th former Storm player to make the NHL, debuting for the New Jersey Devils Friday at the Prudential Center against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Lappin, 23, was called up from the Albany Devils (AHL) Friday after collecting one goal and three points in six games this season. The Brown University graduate skated in 101 regular season games for the Storm from 2010-12, scoring 36 goals and 72 points. Lappin also tallied one goal and two points in the 2012 Clark Cup Playoffs.

A native of Geneva, Illinois, Lappin skated for the Brown Bears from 2012-16 and made his professional debut at the end of the 2015-2016 regular season with Albany. Lappin contributed three goals and seven points in 12 regular season games. In the 2016 Calder Cup Playoffs, Lappin skated in 11 games, totaling five goals and two assists.

The Storm and the Fargo Force begin a two-game set Friday at 7:05 p.m. The Storm is also at Fargo at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, October 29.

The Storm's next home game is Friday, November 4 at 7:05 p.m. against the Omaha Lancers for Social Media Night, presented by the Nebraska Lottery.
