SEATTLE - The Seattle Storm has finalized a deal with the Los Angeles Sparks, acquiring the Sparks' 2026 first round draft pick in exchange for forward Kia Nurse and the Storm's first round pick (No. 4 overall) in the 2024 WNBA draft.
Nurse played in all 40 games for the Storm in 2023, making 20 starts and averaging 5.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists while averaging just under 20 minutes per game. The five-year veteran, who was originally drafted 10th overall in the 2018 draft by the New York Liberty, spent three seasons in New York before playing the 2021 season in Phoenix. After injuring her knee during the 2021 playoffs and missing the 2022 season, Nurse signed as a free agent with Seattle on Feb. 3, 2023.
