(GUELPH) The Guelph Storm Hockey Club have announced that they have acquired defenceman Nathan Martine from the London Knights in exchange for a 3rd Round and 5th Round pick in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection and a conditional 3rd Round choice in 2010.

Martine will be in the Storm lineup on Thursday night when Guelph travels to London to face the Knights. The 19 year old was originally drafted by the Barrie Colts in the first round, 15th overall, of the 2004 OHL Priority Selection. Traded to Mississauga during the 2005-06 season, Martine played two seasons with the IceDogs before being traded to the London Knights in the summer of 2007.

Last season with the IceDogs, the Port Colborne native played 68 games collecting 9 goals and 32 assists for 41 points. He finished the team third in plus/minus with a rating of +35.

The 6-2 defenceman will make his home ice debut with the Storm on Friday night when Guelph hosts the Brampton Battalion in a 7:30 pm start.
