Yannick Weber scored twice and collected two assists to lead the Kitchener Rangers to a 7-0 win over the Erie Otters in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,270 at the Tullio Arena.

Nick Spaling added a goal and three assists for the Rangers while Matt Halischuk, Brandon Mashinter, Mikkel Boedker and Scott Timmins rounded out the scoring. Josh Unice turned aside 24 shot for his second shutout of the season as Kitchener posted their third straight win to improve to 9-2 on the season.

The Rangers led 1-0 after one and 4-0 heading into the third.

Erie dropped their seventh straight game and are now 3-10 on the season.

Jaroslav Janus took the loss for the Otters allowing all seven goals on 29 shots.

The three stars of the game were all from the Rangers. Weber was the first, Spaling the second and Halischuk the third.

The Otters return to action Friday and Saturday with games in Owen Sound against the Attack. Both games can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.

The next Otters home game takes place Saturday, November 3rd when the Plymouth Whalers visit the Tullio Arena for a 7:30 p.m. start. The first 2,500 fans into the game receive a free taco courtesy of Taco Bell and it's also Otterween with prizes for fans dressed in the best costume.
