The Kings started the 2022-23 regular season strong with a five-game win streak. The first two wins coming from a back-to-back matchup against the Santa Cruz Warriors. Trey Burke finished the game with 22 points and four assists in the first game. In the second matchup, Burke led the team with 29 points and Chance Comanche secured a double-double in the win, racking up 18 points and 14 rebounds after going into overtime.
The team then experienced a few up and down games following the streak. They would follow up from their first loss of the season with a 134-113 win over the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Jan. 13. Queta finished with 28 points and nine rebounds while Ford scored 20 points and dished out four assists. Comanche would score 20 points, marking the third time he had recorded a 20-point game so far in the season.
In the team's most recent back-to-back matchup against the Iowa Wolves, the Kings lead wire to wire in the first game, winning by 24 points but would fall by 10 in the next game.
The Kings next matchup takes place at home in Stockton on Feb. 23 against the Ontario Clippers following the All-Star break. This will be the first of six straight home games for Stockton before heading back on the road. Stockton will then finish the regular season with a 4-game homestand.
