RILLER THRILLER: Texas Legends guard Grant Riller was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 12. Riller averaged 38.5 points and 3.0 assists in two games, helping the Legends to a 2-0 record. The former College of Charleston star and Texas return to action after the All-Star break against the Wisconsin Herd on Friday, Feb. 28 at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBAGLeague.com.
TEAM LUKA VS. TEAM SCOOT: The Next Up Game, featuring a field of 24 NBA G League players, will take place on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m. ET and air live on NBA TV from the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City as part of NBA All-Star 2023. Earlier this week, team captains Luka Garza of the Iowa Wolves, a Two-Way Player with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and NBA G League Ignite guard Scoot Henderson each selected their 12-man roster during the NBA G League Next Up Game Draft. With the top overall pick, Team Luka selected Phoenix Suns Two-Way player Saben Lee. With the next pick, Team Scoot chose Memphis Hustle Two-Way player Kenneth Lofton Jr.
ALL THE STARS: Philadelphia 76ers guard Mac McClung will become the second NBA Two-Way player (Cassius Stanley, 2021) to participate in the AT&T Slam Dunk. For the second year in a row, Alex Antetokounmpo (Wisconsin Herd) will be joined by brothers Giannis and Thanasis of the Milwaukee Bucks for the Kia Skills Challenge. Both events are part of the State Farm All Star Saturday Night on Saturday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.
RISE TO THE OCCASION: On Friday, Feb. 17 at 9 p.m. ET on TNT, the 2023 Jordan Rising Stars will feature seven NBA G League standouts, including Sidy Cissoko, Scoot Henderson, Mojave King and Leonard Miller of NBA G League Ignite, Kenneth Lofton Jr. from the Memphis Hustle, Mac McClung of the Delaware Blue Coats and Scotty Pippen Jr. from the South Bay Lakers. The team of NBA G League players will be led by 2008-09 Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year and 2011 NBA champion Jason Terry, a current Utah Jazz assistant coach and former coach of the NBA G League's Grand Rapids Gold.
HOMECOMING: During her fifth season, NBA G League official Angel Kent was selected to officiate the Ruffles NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and NBA G League Next Up Game. Kent is a St. George, Utah native and graduated from the University of Utah. Fun Fact: Kent played the trumpet in college.
