Stockton Kings News Release

Today, following the NBA G League cancellation announcement of the remainder of the 2019-20 season, the Stockton Kings reflect on their impressive season and continue their commitment to the well-being of the 209 community through the Sacramento Kings organization-wide "In This Together" initiative. Fans who already purchased tickets for the remainder of the season can receive a credit for a future game or refund.

"While we are disappointed that the Stockton Kings will not have the opportunity to complete the season, the health and safety of our players, fans and staff is of utmost importance," said Stockton Kings Vice President of Business Operations Dustin Toms. "As a franchise, we are so proud of what we accomplished on and off the court this season. These are uncertain times but the one thing we know for sure is that we are all in this together to keep our community safe."

"We miss our 209 family and our hearts go out to all who have been affected by this devastating pandemic. We all wish we could have finished out the season, but we are in full support of the NBA G League's decision and look forward to next season," said Stockton Kings Coach Ty Ellis. "The team played hard every game and left it all out on the court to make Stockton proud."

In their second season, the Stockton Kings gave the community many reasons to celebrate. The team finished their 2019-20 campaign first in the Pacific Division with a 24-19 record. This is the team's second time in three years finishing first in the division. Additionally, six home games were televised on CBS 13/CW31, allowing the squad to reach a larger fan base beyond the Stockton Arena.

The team had numerous accomplishments on the court which received accolades at the team and individual level. For the third year in a row, Stockton went undefeated at the G League Winter Showcase with wins over the Delaware Blue Coats on Dec. 19 and the Canton Charge on Dec. 21. For his performance, guard Isaiah Canaan was named to the All-NBA G League Showcase First Team. Stockton had two players this season that received GATORADE Call-Ups as guard Gabe Vincent, a Stockton native, signed a two-way contract with the Miami Heat and Sacramento native, center/forward Eric Mika, signed a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings. Stockton also saw three players selected to play for their home countries in the FIBA Americup Qualifiers. Mika and guard Cody Demps, an Elk Grove native, were selected to play for the USA Men's February 2020 Qualifying Team. Opposite his Stockton teammates, forward Isaiah Pineiro, an Auburn native, competed for the Puerto Rico National Team.

Off the court, the Stockton Kings looked to impact the San Joaquin Valley through efforts focused on health and wellness, underserved youth and community service. In partnership with Kaiser Permanente, the team launched two initiatives - "Thrive Zone," a family-friendly zone on the concourse of Stockton Arena with oversized games to inspire play and healthy movement, and Stockton Kings Fit Kids Program, an effort that provided over 2,000 students at six Stockton Unified Schools with workbooks and daily activities, promoting healthy habits and education. The team hosted a drive to collect new Halloween costumes to benefit foster youth through "Costumes with the Kings" and also teamed up with the Tyler Ulis Foundation to adopt families at a local homeless shelter and treat them to breakfast, holiday gifts and an exclusive day at the movies. Additionally, the team launched a new program called "209 Minutes" which encouraged fans to donate 209 minutes towards volunteering at local nonprofits during the holiday season by incentivizing them with a VIP experience.
