NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays (35-26-2-1) never trailed and got goals from four different scorers in a 4-2 victory over the Atlanta Gladiators (24-32-6-2) on Friday night at the North Charleston Coliseum.

In their third consecutive victory, the Stingrays saw multi-point nights from defenseman Max Nicastro who had a goal and an assist, and both Steven McParland and Cody Corbett who each tallied two assists. Goaltender Parker Milner shut the door in the third period, making 20 saves for his 22nd win of the season.

The Stingrays took control of the game early on when Olivier Archambault scored for the fourth consecutive game at 10:07 of the first period. After intercepting a pass, the Montreal, Que. native danced toward the net and put a wrist shot to the right side of the twine. The unassisted goal was Archambault's 14th of the year and gave South Carolina a 1-0 advantage.

Minutes later, Patrick Gaul made it 2-0 by poking a rebound past Atlanta goaltender Matt Ginn for his 11th of the season at 13:57. Assists on the play went to Joe Devin and Nicastro.

But the Gladiators got back into the game with two straight tallies of their own and tied things up at 2-2. Both Derek Nesbitt and Eric Neiley scored their 26th goals of the season during the second period to even the game. Nesbitt's tally came at 1:29 of the frame, while Neiley's strike was at 11:32.

On the play that saw Neiley score, multiple penalties were whistled to players roughing behind the net. Rays' defenseman Joey Leach was given an extra two minutes that put South Carolina on the penalty kill.

During the man-advantage for Atlanta, McParland got control of the puck and rushed into the offensive zone down the right wing before stopping in the corner. He then found Kelly Zajac open right in front of the net for a redirection past Ginn for a short-handed strike. Zajac's 12th of the season came at 13:05 and the second assist on the goal went to Corbett.

Nicastro provided the insurance the Stingrays needed at 13:37 of the third period, scoring his fourth goal of the season to make it 4-2 that also came from McParland and Corbett.

Milner finished with six saves in the third period to hold Atlanta quiet late in the game. Ginn stopped 26 shots for the Gladiators in the loss. Neither team was able to strike on the power play, with South Carolina finishing 0-for-3 and Atlanta coming up empty at 0-for-4.

South Carolina completes their three-game series against the Atlanta Gladiators Saturday night in North Charleston at 7:05 p.m.
