South Carolina Stingrays News Release

The Week That Was...
The Stingrays traveled down to Estero, FL for two games against the Florida Everblades last weekend.

Despite a solid goaltending effort by Josh Johnson and third period goals from Maxime Lacroix and Tom Maxwell, the Rays could not come back from a three-goal second period by the Blades and ultimately fell 5-3.

Anxious to come back from the loss, the Rays came out strong on Saturday night. Behind a hat trick by Michael Dubuc (his first professionally) and 27 saves from Johnson, the Stingrays defeated Florida 4-1.

Roster Moves
The Stingrays saw a lot of changes to the roster last week as the team received a couple of players from Hershey.

Steve Pinizzotto returns to South Carolina after starting the season with the Hershey Bears. The forward from Mississauga, Ont. was assigned on Oct. 24th. Last season, Pinizzotto split time between the Stingrays and the Bears recording 32 points (15g, 17a) in 40 games with the Rays and four points (all assists) in 23 games with the Bears.

Josh Godfrey has also joined the Stingrays from the Bears. A 2nd round Capitals Draft Pick in the 2007 NHL Draft, Godfrey was assigned in time for Saturday's game where he picked up one assist. The Collingwood, Ont. native had an assist and 19 penalty minutes in two games with Hershey this season.
