Condors Collect More Than 380 Toys, 2nd Most in Toy Drive History
October 28, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Bakersfield Condors News Release
The Condors Toy Drive, held on the Rabobank Arena Plaza Wednesday night, resulted in the donation of more than 380 toys. That mark is the second-highest in the Toy Drive's five-year history, bringing the grand total to nearly 1,400 toys. The toys will be distributed to under-privileged children by Stay Focused Ministries during the holiday season.
"First, a big thank you to the Bakersfield Condors, ABC23 and R&D Leather Furniture for helping us to reach so many less-fortunate kids in our community," said Stay Focused Department Director Manuel Carrizalez. "Together, we can bring hope and happiness to children, one child at a time."
Fans that donated toys to the Toy Drive received $1 admission to Wednesday night's game and were able to watch the Condors defeat the Stockton Thunder, 7-4.
