South Carolina Stingrays News Release
NORTH CHARLESTON, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 23 seasons in the Lowcountry and proud affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League (NHL), host a pair of home games this weekend on Saturday and Sunday against the Alaska Aces. Saturday's game is our Trident Health Adult Jersey Giveaway to the first 1,000 adults and Sunday is Frozen Day, featuring the princesses and the snowman from the movie in attendance, plus $5 Kids Tickets and $5 Kids Meals as part of Crews Subaru and Charleston County Parks Family Days.
Saturday's game features a 7:05 p.m. puck drop, but fans are encouraged to arrive early to score one of the 1,000 Trident Health Adult jerseys. Doors open for Season Ticket Holders at 5:30 p.m. and the general public at 6:00 p.m. The jerseys, which are replicas of South Carolina's white uniforms, feature the Stingrays logo on the chest. The jerseys will be first come, first served and are expected to go quickly.
Sunday's game begins at 3:05 p.m. and is perfect for children of all ages. The princesses and snowman from the movie Frozen will be in attendance, and will be roaming the concourse to meet with fans and take photos. Children are encouraged to dress up like their favorite Frozen character for the afternoon game.
Sunday's game is also a Crews Subaru and Charleston County Parks Family Days game meaning all Kids Tickets are just $5, and Kids Meals at the game at just $5 as well. $5 Kids Tickets may be purchased online HERE through Saturday night, and at the North Charleston Coliseum Box Office on Sunday.
Children's Museum of the Lowcounty will be on hand at Sunday's game and will have activities for children during breaks in the action.
After Sunday's game, fans are encouraged to head to King Street Grille-Northwoods for a Postgame Meet and Greet with Stingrays players and Cool Ray. Players scheduled to attend include captain Andrew Rowe, goalies Mark Dekanich and Vitek Vanecek, forward Stephan Vigier and defenseman Wade Epp, Marcus Perrier and Brendan Ellis. Players are subject to change.
On the ice, Saturday is the first matchup between the Stingrays and the Aces since the Stingrays won Game 7 of the 2009 Kelly Cup Finals. The two clubs have not met in the regular season since 2004.
