South Carolina Stingrays News Release

In a dramatic rollercoaster series between the South Carolina Stingrays and Brabham Cup Champion Florida Everblades, the Stingrays prevailed to clinch the Southern Division title and advance to the American Conference Finals.

The Stingrays took an early series lead in Florida with an overtime win off Zach Tarkir's goal and won the series in much the same fashion. Entering game six with a 3-2 series lead, the Stingrays were looking to bring it home and came out striking early. However a couple of late shots from Florida would leave the teams tied at the end of regulation. Once again, Tarkir fired from the point to end the game and the series making your South Carolina Stingrays 2008-2009 Southern Division Champions!

The Stingrays are preparing to begin Round 3 of the 2008-2009 Kelly Cup Playoffs this Saturday, May 9 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

It's déjà vu as the Rays find themselves facing the Cincinnati Cyclones for the second straight year in the American Conference Finals. Last year in the best-of-7 game series, the Cyclones dominated the Stingrays and took the first 4 games before going on to win the Kelly Cup. Be there as the Rays fight to turn the tables and bring the American Conference Title back home to South Carolina.

Stingrays playoff games are always more fun with a group. If you have 10 or more family members and friends that you would like to enjoy a playoff game with, there are special group rates and big savings off the box office price!
