September 22, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
South Carolina Stingrays News Release

With the 2006-2007 season less than a month away, the Stingrays have loaded their home games with promotions, giveaways, and special events.

The festivities start right away on the home opener against Columbia on October 21. Activities begin at 4:00 p.m. with Family Fun on the plaza. Games, jump castles, food, and more will be set up outside the North Charleston Coliseum for enjoyment before the game. During the game, fans will get the chance to see the ZOOperstars during each intermission; an act that always entertains.

Kid's Day Sundays are back again this season with five dollar kid's tickets and Skate with the Rays after the game. All intermissions and in-game activities will be kid-oriented and will feature kids. After the October 29th game, the Rays are hosting a Trick or Treat at the Coliseum. Kids will get a chance to visit their favorite players as they hand out candy with the Booster Association all throughout the concourse.

While many of the old favorites are returning this season, including Military and Scout nights throughout the year, Pack the House night on January 20, the Berkeley Electric Co-op largest t-shirt toss of the year on March 16, and the Piggly Wiggly New Year's Eve celebration, the Stingrays have added many new promotions.

First up is Dash for Cash on November 18 where a few lucky fans have the option to win up to $1000. November 24 marks the first Tricounty Youth Night where every student from kindergarten through fourth grade will receive a free ticket to the game. February offers the chance for dog lovers to bring their dogs to the game. The Dog Days of Winter take place on February 11, 18, and 25.

Giveaways this year will include a rally towel for the home opener (Oct. 21), the magnetic schedule on October 28, a bobble head on March 10, and the team photo on Fan Appreciation Night, April 7. More giveaways are in the works and will be announced closer to their date.

The Stingrays are making a special effort this season to support charities in the Low Country. The Salvation Army and IMAX Theater Coat Drive takes place on November 22 while the annual Teddy Bear Toss for Debbie's Kids occurs on December 2. The newest way the Stingrays are helping raise money is the Fundraising Sprint occurring on December 31. Charities have the option to sell tickets to the December 31 game, earning money through our fundraising program, and whichever group sells the most will receive 50% of the profits earned from the Jersey Auction that night. This allows even the smallest charities to earn big dollars.

Don't miss your chance to take advantage of all the happenings this season at the Stingrays games.

The puck drops on the 14th season of hockey in the Low Country on October 20 at Gwinnett and returns to home ice against Columbia on October 21. Order your full season, weekend, and partial ticket plans today by calling a Ticket Sales Manager at 744-2248.
