
Checkers Practice and Training Facility Opens to the Public Sunday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Extreme Ice Center - the official practice and training facility of the Charlotte Checkers - will hold its grand opening Sunday from 12:00 - 2:00 pm. The festivities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, on-ice exhibitions, a free public skate and activities for children.
The Checkers will open training camp at Extreme Ice Center Saturday, October 7 and host an exhibition game against the South Carolina Stingrays at the facility Saturday, October 14 at 1:30 pm. Tickets for the exhibition game are $5 and can be purchased at Extreme Ice Center.
About Extreme Ice Center
Extreme Ice Center will house two NHL regulation sheets of ice, a smaller training sheet of ice called the Puddle, restaurant, wellness center, snack bar, full-service pro shop and meeting spaces.
At Extreme Ice Center, the Checkers will have a permanent locker room, training room, storage room and coaching office.
About the Checkers
The Charlotte Checkers open their 14th season in the ECHL Friday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 pm against the Wheeling Nailers at St. Lawrence Homes Home Ice at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
