Willmar, Minn. - Willmar has made it two in a row, defeating the Waterloo Bucks on Friday night in walk off fashion.

In a game that took over an hour to get through two innings the Willmar Stingers found themselves down by one in the ninth inning, and as they have two times before this season they were able to win it at the last moment at home. It started in the ninth with a game tying fielders choice off the bat of Nic Hernandez (Cal Poly Pomona) scoring Tyler Reichenborn (Iowa Western CC) and making it 3-3. The winning run scored as Matt Rudick (San Diego St) dashed home on a wild pitch with two outs in the ninth and Jon Trousdale (Alabama) at the plate.

Willmar improves to 14-10 on the season after taking both games from the Bucks.

The 2018 Stingers season is presented by Marcus Construction. For more coverage of the Stingers visit the West Central Tribune online at www.wctrib.com.
