Stingers Lose Final Game in Duluth

Duluth, Minn.- The Stingers were unable to capitalize on opportunities tonight as they left eleven runners on base. In four innings the Stingers had runners on base with zero outs, but only two scored.

Evan Furst (Augustana University) made the start for the Stingers. He went 4.1 innings, allowing three runs, two of them were earned on six hits. Furst walked one batter, while picking up three strikeouts.

The Huskies scored in the fourth after an error brought a runner in from third. 1-0 Huskies. The Huskies continued to score runs in the fifth. They scored two runs, off four hits, leaving two runners on base. 3-0 Huskies. Bryant Claunch (North Alabama) came into pitch for the Stingers in the fifth. He went 3.2 innings, giving up three hits but not allowing a run.

The Stingers were able to bring a run across in the eighth after Brandon Bohning (Northridge) scored Daniel Walsh on a single. 3-1 Huskies. In the ninth, the Stingers were able to bring home a run when Andrew Lucas scored on a pass ball. That was the last run scored as the Stingers were held to a final score of 3-2 Huskies.
