Sarnia Sting News Release
Sarnia, ON. - Sarnia Sting General Manager Dylan Seca announced this morning that the Hockey Club has signed 5'10", 2006-born defenseman Nathan Omeri to an Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Standard Player Agreement.
Omeri, a native of Etobicoke, Ontario, was selected by the Sting in the 8th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. During his draft year, the 165-pound defenceman tallied 10 goals and 15 assists through 47 games played with the North York Rangers U16 AAA team in addition to a goal and 2 assists in 4 games at the 2022 OHL Cup. Omeri spent the 2022-23 season playing Junior B in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League (GOJHL). The right shot defenceman recorded 9 goals and 25 assists through 50 appearances for the Hamilton Kilty B's, a performance that earned him a selection on the Golden Horseshoe Conference All-Rookie Team and an invite to the GOJHL Future Stars Game.
On the addition of Omeri, Seca adds:
"Nathan had an excellent season in Junior B with Hamilton. We saw his offensive game take big strides and he rounded out his play away from the puck. Nathan shows confidence with the puck and is a player who had options outside of the OHL. This signing builds to our already strong '06 draft class. We would like to welcome Nathan and the Omeri family to Sarnia."
