Sting Sign Blue Liner Justin Nolet to Standard Player Agreement
October 4, 2019 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Sarnia Sting News Release
SARNIA, ON - Sarnia Sting General Manager Nick Sinclair announced today that 18-year old defenceman Justin Nolet has committed to the Ontario Hockey League with the Sarnia Sting Hockey Club.
Nolet was the Sting's 14th round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection and was a participant in the team's 2019 Training Camp in late August.
Nolet's commitment to the Sting comes as he has been skating with the Toronto Patriots of the OJHL, where he is enjoying a fine start to his season with nine points in as many games. In the 2018-19 season with the Patriots, The Mississauga, ON. native recorded nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points in 49 games, and was named to the All Prospect Second Team in the OJHL.
Prior to joining the Toronto Patriots, Nolet skated for his hometown Mississauga Senators at the minor midget level, and was a member of the Senators at the OHL Cup in the 2016-17 season, along with teammate Anthony Tabak.
Sarnia Sting General Manager Nick Sinclair comments on today's signing, "Justin is extremely well deserving of this opportunity. He has done everything we have asked of him in the last two seasons, and he has continued to develop at a high level and quickly became an elite defenceman in the OJHL. We now look forward to helping push his development to the next stage at the OHL level."
