Sarnia Sting News Release
Hugo Leufvenius: The Swedish import continues to lead the team in scoring, Hugo now sits with nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 19 games played. Justin McCombs: The 17-year-old forward is showing improved confidence as he gets more and more OHL experience. McCombs scored his first OHL gaol vs the Windsor Spitfires on November 3rd and followed it up with his second OHL marker this past Friday night in Kitchener. Keep and eye on McCombs as he progresses throughout the season.
Ryan McGregor McGregor participated in last Thursdays' CIBC Canada Russia Series as part of Team OHL. The Sting captain represented well, surrendering no goals to the Russians while earning 2 shots-on-goal. Jacob Perreault: Perreault recently represented Canada and the Sarnia Sting at the World Under 17 Hockey Challenge. As part of Team Canada Red, Perreault finished the tournament with two goals, including one clutch tally in the bronze medal game vs. Sweden. The Sting rookie scored mid-way through the third to force overtime and eventually a shoot-out. Unfortunately, Team Canada Red would lose in the shoot-out surrendering the bronze medal to Team Sweden. Nick Sinclair: The Sarnia Sting General Manager was also involved in the Under 17 Hockey Challenge as Director of Operations for Team Canada Red. His squad was the only Canadian outfit to move past the quarter finals. Sinclair relished the opportunity to earn international experience and an opportunity to scout some the international best.
