(Windsor) Nail Yakupov wrapped up the pre-season in style on Saturday night with four goals and an assist, as his Sarnia Sting topped the Windsor Spitfires 6-1 in the last exhibition game of the season for both clubs.
Brady Vail had the only goal for Windsor, who finished the pre-season with a win, two losses and two ties.
Yakupov put up eight points in 24 hours against the Spits, giving him six goals and nine assists for 15 points in six exhibition games.
The Spits got into early penalty trouble, fell behind 3-0 after 20 minutes and never recovered.
Vail's goal came on the power play, and was his first of the pre-season.
John Cullen took the loss in goal for the Spits, playing all 60 minutes.
The Spits open their season on Thursday night, September 22nd, as they host the Guelph Storm.
