March 21, 2003 - SPHL (SPHL)
Macon Trax News Release
Postseason honors continue for Tommy Stewart, the first 100 point scorer in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League.
Having already been named to the ACHL all-star team, Stewart has also been named the ACHL's Most Valuable Player in voting by the league coaches and media. Stewart finished the regular season with 101 points on a league leading 44 goals and second leading assist total of 57. He finished the season getting points in 24 of the Trax final 25 games.
"This really is a good honor for Tommy, and certainly one he deserves," Trax coach Brian Curran said. "Even though he won the scoring title by a wide margin (20 points over teammate Luke Murphy) he certainly isn't a selfish player who was trying to pad his stats."
The Trax play game two of their President's Cup semifinal series with Orlando at the Centreplex on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Orlando won game one, 3-2 in overtime on Thursday night in Orlando. Game three in the series will be on Saturday in Orlando at 7:30 p.m. If games four or five are needed in the series they will be in Orlando on March 25th and 26th at 7 p.m.
All road games throughout the playoffs can be heard on the internet at www.macontrax.com or www.IRN.FM .
The Trax hold their hour long Hockey Happy Hour at Locos Deli & Pub every Monday at 6 p.m., which can also be heard on the internet link. Playoff tickets and season tickets for 2003-04 are now on sale. For more information on the Trax, contact the Trax office at (478) 743-6010.
