March 19, 2003 - SPHL (SPHL)
Macon Trax News Release
As the first 100 point scorer in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League, right winger Tommy Stewart of the Macon Trax, leads the league's postseason all-star team. The ACHL all-star team was selected by league coaches and media members.
Stewart won the ACHL scoring title with 44 goals and 57 assists for 101 points. He finished 20 points ahead of teammate Luke Murphy in the league scoring race. Stewart also led the league in goals.
"Tommy was just a great story all year long," Trax coach Brian Curran said. "He had an unbelievable last two months of the season. He was a big reason for our strong finish. I think (defenseman) Corey Smith and (center) Luke Murphy also had all-star caliber seasons."
Along with Stewart the other members of the ACHL postseason all-star team are goaltender Dan McIntyre (Winston-Salem Parrots); defensemen Mark White (Orlando Seals) and Andrew Dickson (Winston-Salem); and forwards Louis Goulet (Orlando) and Kevin Swider (Knoxville Ice Bears).
The Trax open the playoffs on Thursday at Orlando at 7 p.m. Game two of the series is in Macon on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Game three on Saturday in Orlando starts at 7:30 p.m. If games four or five are needed in the series they will be in Orlando on March 25th and 26th at 7 p.m.
All road games throughout the playoffs can be heard on the internet at www.macontrax.com or www.IRN.FM .
