
Stegall signs extension

WINNIPEG, MB â One of the greatest receivers to ever suit up for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be sticking around for the foreseeable future.
The football club announced today that slotback Milt Stegall has agreed to a contract extension. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are extremely happy to have one of the all-time great Blue Bomber receivers make a commitment like this to our organization," said Blue Bombers G.M. Brendan Taman.
"Milton has been a consummate professional both on and off the field and his importance to this team and its fans is immeasurable."
Stegall (6-1, 185, Miami OH '91, DOB: Jan. 25, 1970 in Cincinnati, OH) has played 11 CFL seasons, all of them with the Blue Bombers.
Stegall became the club's all-time receptions leader in the team's July 22nd, 2004 game versus the B.C. Lions when he hauled in the 574th reception of his CFL career. He finished the season with a career total of 626 receptions.
The Turtle Man had one of the greatest individual seasons in CFL history in 2002 when he led the league in receptions (106), receiving yards (1,896), yards from scrimmage (1,896), touchdowns (23), receiving touchdowns (23), 100-yards receiving games (10) and average yards per catch (17.9).
Stegall is a four-time CFL All-Star and a five-time Divisional All-Star.
He has played in 139 regular season games with the Bombers. He joined the Bombers after spending three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL.
Stegall was a three-year college starter at Miami of Ohio. He finished his collegiate career with 106 receptions for 1,581 yards. He was a three-time Mid-American All-Conference selection.
